Jessica Smith

Dr. Jessica B. Smith completed her undergraduate degree in Physics at Amherst College in 1994, and joined the Anderson Group in 1995 as a research technician. She worked for several years in this capacity and supported many of the airborne instruments (ClO/BrO, HOx, Water Vapor, and Total Water) in the laboratory and during field deployments. She transitioned to become a graduate student in the group with her research focused upon achieving high accuracy in situ water vapor measurements, elucidating the mechanisms that control the distribution and phase of water in the UT/LS, and assessing the chemical importance of water vapor in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. She completed her doctorate in 2011, and is continuing as a Research Associate within the group. Outside of lab, Jessica enjoys cross-country skiing, drawing, and birdwatching.
