CRYSTAL/FACE Mission

The Anderson Group's Water Vapor and Total Water instruments are participating in the CRYSTAL/FACE mission based in Key West, Florida. The integration effort began on June 23rd at Ellington Field, Houston. Although two test flights had been planned, persistent thunderstorms caused two scrubs, so only one test flight was completed. On June 29th, the plane and its instruments made the ferry flight from Ellington to Key West with the support equipment following in Air-Ride trucks and the experimenters heading out by a variety of air routes.
