checkts: Test of Log File Integrity

Invocation:

checkts dir [dir ...]
dir is the name of a run directory containing tm.dac and log directories, e.g.: checkts 020509.1

Description

checkts analyzes the raw telemetry data in the specified directories. It reports the contents of the tm.dac file, and then checks the basic integrity of the raw log files by verifying that the timestamp records in each file make sense. If a timestamp represents a negative time jump or an exceedingly long skip forward, it is reported as an 'Unlikely timestamp'. In our experience, these situations usually arise due to log file corruption, and the simple solution is to remove or rename the questionable files. [It is possible that some useful data could be extracted from these files if they are only 'partly' corrupted, but usually it is not worth the effort. By renaming rather than removing, you reserve the option of digging deeper if that level of effort is deemed worthwhile.]
